Challenge
The customer needed to automate a process including adhesive application to mandrels, extraction of expandable shafts, and their subsequent insertion and transfer to the rewinder. The objective was to reduce manual intervention, ensure process repeatability and meet demanding cycle-time requirements.
Solution
Bildu Lan designed a semi-automatic cell capable of feeding mandrels, applying adhesive in a controlled manner, automatically extracting the expandable shafts, assembling both components and transporting the completed assembly to the rewinder. The system integrates sequential automated operations while limiting operator intervention to preparation and loading tasks.
